The Robert C. Hamilton Award

The Robert C. Hamilton Award is presented to the student scoring the highest total score on the BOC examination for the previous year. To be eligible for the award the student must be a member of the IATA and have passed the exam on their first attempt.

Dr. Hamilton, inducted into the IATA Hall of Fame in 1984, was an orthopedic physician heavily involved in athletics. He served as team physician for DePaul University and Gordon Tech H.S. at the time he passed away, and previously for the University of Illinois and other universities and high schools. He was a mentor for several athletic trainers and always very supportive of the athletic trainers’ role on the sports medicine team.

Eligible students should present a copy of their test scores to:

IATA Vice-President Mike Overturf at moverturf@athletico.com
