Goals and Mission For IATA SSC

Mission:

1. To provide quality sports medicine care to the secondary school setting, regardless of the size of the school.
2. To improve the working environment and salaries of those of the IATA membership population working in the secondary school setting.
3. To increase the number of certified athletic trainers working in the secondary school setting.  Mainly adding athletic trainers to schools that do not currently enlist the services of an athletic trainer.

Goals:

1. Improve the relationship with the IHSA.
   1. Make the relationship more cooperative and functional
2. Educate the parents, student-athletes, coaches and school administrations about our profession in this setting
   1. Highlight the cost-benefit ratio and liability issues
   2. Get more students actively involved in Student Athletic Training Programs in the secondary school setting
   3. Get to the booster clubs
3. Educate the public/community in general about our profession in this setting
4. Provide resources about how to hire and ATC for all schools and especially those that do not have access to an ATC.
