Student Congress
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Illinois Athletic Trainer’s Student Congress is to organize educational programs ad opportunities to meet the needs of the IATA students, and to develop the athletic training leaders of tomorrow. The goals of the congress are to bring forth the issues of the athletic training students in the state of Illinois to the state level and work toward a solution to these issues in a timely manner. In doing this the congress shall help, in partner with the athletic training education programs within the state, to elevate the standard of education.
Definition of a Young Professional
The IATA is proud of those young individuals that are set to embark in the professional world of athletic training. We have and continue to define a young professional in athletic training as someone that has a voice and can make a positive change. Our profession is forever evolving to new heights and we encourage each student to take advantage of all the opportunities available to become involved. The IATA offers many avenues of involvement for each young professional: annual college bowl at the state meeting, several scholarships awarded yearly, student congress, GLATA senator, leadership development, networking, and learning through many student sessions at the annual state meeting.
