Amanda is a Pittsburgh, PA native and 2013 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Following, she earned her post-professional Master’s in Athletic Training from the University of Kentucky. During that time, she served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Madison Southern High School. She then returned home to Pittsburgh, PA and worked at Duquesne University. Before moving to Illinois, she worked at Eastwood High School in El Paso, TX where she was a certified Texas Educator and co-head athletic trainer for the 6-A high school. While there, she helped manage the athletic training student aides and helped to adopt new competencies, policies, and procedures for the group. She moved to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in the fall of 2018 with her husband Shane who is an athletic trainer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She currently works at Carle Orthopedics and Sports Medicine serving in both a sports injury therapy role and physician extender role and the Head Athletic Trainer at Parkland Community College. She currently serves as the Chair of the Committee on Leadership and Career Advancement, previously the Young Professionals Committee.
