The Elections Committee is comprised of the President-Elect or Past President, Region Representatives, and Communications Director. This group gathers nominees for positions as they become available, ensures candidates' eligibility to run for positions, collects and counts ballots during each election, and manages election appeals as they are outlined in the IATA Bylaws.

To be eligible to run for a position on the IATA Board, an individual must be a current member of the IATA and hold a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number. Elections are held two months prior to the Annual Meeting, and newly elected individuals will assume office at the Annual Meeting.
