State Symposium

OUR MISSION

The mission of the IATA is to improve the quality of healthcare in the State of Illinois through the advancement, promotion, and improvement of the athletic training profession at all levels, and to promote a better working relationship among those interested in athletic training by providing a means for a free exchange of ideas.

The Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium is held in early November, and is the opportunity for athletic trainers across the state to gather for education and celebration. Over the course of a weekend, there are a variety of classes and events offered. On Friday and Saturday, there are typically workshops for special interests. The Social is held on Saturday evening, at which scholarships are presented to recipients who have applied during the year. Sunday holds most of the educational programming, including a variety of lectures, and the Keynote address. The IATA Business Meeting, official Board meeting, and many other committee meetings are also held on Sunday. Students who attend will also benefit from student-centered programming, and enjoy the friendly competition of the annual Quiz Bowl.

The state meeting is your opportunity to get involved with the IATA, connect with athletic trainers you may rarely see, visit vendor booths, and learn about new trends in the profession.

If you are interested in being a presenter of a general session or workshop for a symposium in the future, or know of a medical professional who would be interested, please contact Nicholas Grahovec at: NGrahovec@niu.edu
