State Symposium

OUR MISSION

The mission of the IATA is to improve the quality of healthcare in the State of Illinois through the advancement, promotion, and improvement of the athletic training profession for practicing Athletic Trainers in all settings, and to be proactive in creating effective partnerships in our communities, as well as among those interested in athletic training as a career. In addition, IATA provides a means for a free exchange of ideas for the Illinois athletic training field.

The Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium is held in early November, and is the opportunity for athletic trainers across the state to gather for education and celebration. Over the course of a weekend, there are a variety of classes and events offered.

This year, educational content will be spread out throughout Saturday and early Sunday. We will still have the collegiate Quiz Bowl and Certified Trivia Night on Saturday evening, with the addition of an award winners' social after the trivia event. Sunday's agenda will include more educational sessions, the Annual Business Meeting, and an Awards Ceremony to honor our award recipients from 2020 and 2021. Attendees will have the option to visit with our vendors and sponsors during an open lunch break on Sunday as well. Please check out the full agenda below.

The state meeting is your opportunity to get involved with the IATA, connect with athletic trainers you may rarely see, visit vendor booths, and learn about new trends in the profession. The 2021 meeting will be held on November 6th and 7th, at the Embassy Suites in Naperville, IL.
